Screw the hub to two of the rafters and fasten the other two by driving 3 in. The framing for this roof is a symmetrical hip roof with large overhangs and a cupola. Most cupolas i ve seen have a hip roof. You can frame the cupola on top of your existing roof but be sure you have solid blocking under the outside walls of the cupola.
