Incomplete installation of the pile to the projected mark is eliminated by one two fold raising of the sheet pile by 0 5 0 8 m and its subsequent reinstallation. Passage of the sheet pile below the projected mark is corrected by its building up or plating. This can be achieved by either using silent or vibratory equipment. This compact versatile and very powerful extractor consists of two hydraulic cylinders capable of generating up to 4 000 kn 450 ton of pile extraction force through a set of hydraulically actuated taper wedge jaws.

A pile that has met an obstruction or that has split or broken in driving or that is to be salvaged steel sheet piles are frequently salvaged for reuse is usually pulled extracted. Extraction of the pile with the application of vibration is usually effected with cranes. When piles are used as a temporary means of earthwork support they can be extracted for re use. Care must be taken to make sure that there is adequate access for the extraction plant including any craneage required to handle the equipment and piles.
